Shark Tank India Season 3 : Worst Season!
Shark Tank India has successfully completed two seasons, and now it is airing the third season of it. However, this season is not only different in terms of products and pitches but also in terms of overall approach. The show focuses on helping small-scale firms, newly established entrepreneurs, and, lastly, a medium to promote their products on a national level. The show stars are Aman Gupta (Boat founder), Anupam Tripathi (Shaadi.com), Vineeta (Sugar Cosmetics), Namita Thapar (Emcure Pharmaceuticals), Ritesh Agrawal (Oyo), and Amit Jain (Car Dekho). The worst pitches this season have questioned the loyalty and quality of the content being spread to the audience. These were:
Adult Companies
This is not the first time any adult or sensual firm or product has been pitched. In season 1, “Nabi Oil” was pitched, which became a laughing stock afterwards. However, in this season, we could see three pitches that came on Shark Tank India for pitching their products. First, Luvottica, a company that sells love-making furniture and well-being products. The sharks were somewhat embarrassed with the pitch, and some didn’t know how to react. The owner of Luvottica might be bold enough to pitch his product on national television, but from an investment perspective, it was useless. The second was Shararat, a firm selling intimate wear and game stuff for couples. The sharks were again shy and not comfortable with the pitch. The third was VA Incense Sticks. The firm sells fragrance incense sticks, which can create a romantic atmosphere. All these pitches and products did not at all match the standard of investment. Secondly, as teens are also watching this show, is it good content by the makers for people who want to go into entrepreneurship? No doubt, the audience was unhappy with the content.
The Restaurants Pitches
Allowing restaurants on their show. I mean, if you are selling Chole Bature, Chinese, Momos, etc., you are definitely not selling anything healthy but junk food, and it is not an investment kind of category as tastes buds differ a lot, so the kind of food Sharks and Founders are trying to promote for
food lovers definitely don’t go well with the target audience.
Clothing brands
Clothing brand is a category in which sharks have less expertise, and it’s subjective. Clothing brands cannot be advertised on a national level. First, it is a market where the consumer loves to buy products through physical stores rather than online. Deeva Brand comes to the show to pitch for their saree business. But how can sharks even invest when female sharks don’t wear sarees? Whysoblue is a kind of firm that sells fast fashion, which is selling abstract painting. Females wear clothes; however, sharks complain to the founders regarding their poor sense of design and color choices. The brand is definitely making a fool out of the audience by selling depressive designs in the name of high fashion at expensive rates. Aastey, a brand of sustainable athlete wear company whose pitching was worst, and secondly, the reviews came negative on social media after the telecast of what they claim and what exactly their products’ qualities are. The problem with this category is that it is on the expensive side and premium based which middle class people cannot afford and the designs are too outdated.
Sugar Cosmetics vs. Other Cosmetics Companies
Vineeta Singh, who is the founder of Sugar Cosmetics, might have built a successful career in this line, but she is highly insecure when it comes to other cosmetics firms that come on Shark Tank India for promotion. It is not like her products are natural or organic. She is using the same ingredients that other big companies use for making cosmetics. Instead of promoting new skincare products, Vineeta Singh and other sharks always have a rigid and insecure approach to such entrepreneurs. Either they should ban these cosmetics brand pitches if they don’t want a competitive market or don’t want to invest in this category.
That’s all for today! Happy reading and don’t forget to comment down.
